Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, says his administration has spent N3 billion to establish a quarry plant in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area, to accelerate infrastructure development. He disclosed this while flagging off the distribution of 70 brand-new trucks to the Ministry of Works and the State Road Maintenance Agency (BORMA) at the Government House, Maiduguri. Zulum said the quarry plant has a processing capacity of 120 tonnes per hour.

He noted that the trucks would boost the operational capacity of the Ministry of Works and its agencies. “The trucks will enable swift delivery of materials to project sites and faster intervention on damaged roads,” he said. According to him, the quarry will provide locally sourced materials such as granite, gravel and sharp sand, reducing dependence on external suppliers and cutting costs.

“My administration has established a quarry plant in Pulka with a processing capacity of 120 tonnes per hour. The state government spent at least N3 billion on the project,” he said.
