SANParks has announced that the Jeep Track at Lion’s Head will be temporarily closed to allow for necessary maintenance, reports Cape {town} Etc. Morgane Le Breton/Unsplash The closure will begin on Monday, 20 April and is anticipated to last until Saturday, 20 June, depending on weather and project completion schedules. The Jeep Track will not be open to the public during this time.
Hikers can still reach the Lion’s Head Summit, however, by using the Kramat track on Signal Hill Road, the Upper Rhine Road track, and the trail from Kloof Road. Lion’s Head parking area is still available to those who want to use the trail from the Kramat to Lions Head. The goal of this repair project is to increase trail safety and improve the overall experience for visitors.
