Spokesperson to Kano State Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, has taunted Kwankwasiyya loyalists over the ongoing crisis in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), sayig they may soon abandon the party for another. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Dawakin Tofa wrote: “I think within a week, our Kwankwasiyya brothers will leave the ADC, and that will become the third option A.” His remark comes as the ADC grapples with internal leadership disputes that have unsettled opposition groups exploring alternative platforms ahead of the 2027 elections. The Kwankwasiyya movement, led by former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has recently defected to ADC following his resignation from New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
However, the ADC’s unresolved factional crisis has raised doubts about its viability as a political base. It is said that Dawakin Tofa’s taunt reflects the ruling government’s confidence that Kwankwasiyya may struggle to find a stable platform before the next general elections.
